June Update 2025

Various small things! (ft. newsletter move)

To think that it’s already halfway through the year 2025. I think I give that sort of spiel every time I write a new newsletter post, so let’s skip over it for today.

If you ever subscribed to this newsletter, you should be receiving this in your email inbox. This newsletter has now moved from Substack to Beehiiv for various reasons, but if all the exporting/importing went smoothly, then existing subscribers should not need to do anything extra to continue getting updates!

(And if you’re interested in getting intermittent emails on what I’m up to, please do subscribe to the newsletter!)

Now to jump right into it…

visual;conference

In January, I presented at VNConf once again this year on the topic of project management. Do check it out if you’re interesting in hearing me ramble on organization, spreadsheets, and misc. topics in how to run a visual novel dev team.

website / spa

In March, I set up a single page application neocities landing page after hearing about a yuri evn web ring! It was a fun little exercise, and it’s always nice to see more yuri visual novels.

battle action fantasy vn jam 2025

Now to June: Battle Action Fantasy VN Jam is back for yet another year! I am once again hosting the jam together with Arimia and pumpkin spike, so if you’re a dev interested in making a chuunige, why not start one this June?

While I won’t be participating in the jam itself (only as one of the hosts and logo designer), I’m looking forward to getting back to Consummation at some point in the future.

offkai expo

Also June: I will be attending Offkai Expo later this month as well. While I won’t be boothing or showing off any games in particular, I will be at the convention. If you see me, maybe I’ll give you a business card?

If not, here’s the digital version!

When it comes to visual novel development, I’m afraid I can’t announce what I’m working on yet! (Although folks who have been following my work since the start might actually know the project… yes, it’s coming back to life)

All I can say is that writing is chugging along at around 40k words at the moment (roughly 25% of the script). I’m looking forward to officially announcing the project to the public and aiming for EOY 2025 script completion.

Keep staying yuri!
