Upcoming toxic yuri visual novel: lemure;lemure

I’d like to officially announce that I am participating in Toxic Yuri VN Jam with an entry called lemure;lemure.

The game is a kinetic visual novel set in not-very-Victorian era not-London, in a world where both humans and animal ear-ed people called Lemurians exist.

synopsis

A string of serial murders sends the Whitechapel district of Londinium into a fearful frenzy. Amidst those blood colored whispers, a white cat continues her daily life in the slums doing odd jobs and nothing of note.

Then, one day—as if ordained by God— she meets her fated lover: a dirty, dirty liar.

—Serial killer toxic yuri.

status

A little unusually but perhaps not so much given my recently released short game “My Affection that Dies,” I’ve chosen to solo dev lemure;lemure.

The first draft of the script is complete at roughly 11.5k words. I’m contemplating expanding on some scenes. Will the final script be shorter or longer? That’s for both of us to find out.

In the meanwhile, I’ve decided to take a quick aside and start working on art assets. The key visual and main characters’ sprites are lined but not rendered. I’m still contemplating what to do with the side characters.

The game is midway through development, but I expect art to take quite a bit of time. With Toxic Yuri VN jam being a 6 week jam, you might see this game come out closer to early-mid July.

I hope you’ll look forward to reading their story. Even if it inevitably ends in disaster.
